“Wolfe’s Neck Center is one of the primary reasons I moved to Freeport so many years ago. Now, I am so pleased to support this once in a generation investment in WNC. The rolling pastures, the shoreline and the wooded trails are a source of comfort and inspiration for so many, and the hands-on experiences that visitors get when they are here help them to better understand how farming impacts their health, our economy and the environment. The transformation of the facilities here will deepen Wolfe’s Neck Center’s impact and ensure that future of this incredible place is strong.”
“We are honored to support this historic effort to transform an extraordinary place that has meant so much to us over the years. Agriculture can and must play an important role to address the many challenges that face our society today. A revitalized WNC will be a real leader in changing how we all engage with food and farming – for healthy people, a strong economy, and a planet we can be proud to leave to the next generation.
Wolfe’s Neck gives SO much to the education and understanding of food and it’s source to young and old. I wish I could visit more often. Thank you very much.
I support Wolfe’s Neck Center because it is a local group nurturing the love of our Earth for children, as well as being active participants in figuring out ways to combat climate change. I also appreciate being able to visit the farm, walk the trails and enjoy the beauty it offers. Thank you.
Love your mission, love your beautiful location, love learning from you, love the opportunities it gives us with our grandchildren.
My kids have enjoyed Wolfe’s Neck vacation and summer camps for a few years running now, and we are just so impressed at the quality of the programs and education provided! They truly love every minute of their time at the farm – from the tractor wagon rides down to the shore, to getting to know the chickens, calves, goats, and farm cats, to trying new foods, and even to shoveling poop in the barn during chore time! We look forward to being connected with your organization for years to come. Thank you for your positive impact on our family, this beautiful coastal region, and the earth.
We’ve heard a lot about your mission and work since we moved to Portland (now South Portland) two years ago, but have yet to visit! We plan to come visit for the first time as soon as possible in 2020. We were inspired to donate after reading about your Cows for Climate Change Research project. We’re also interested in volunteering for that project and around the farm in 2020.
“This camp showed me what it may be like to be a teacher. How even the little things can be an impact on a child… Having a purpose to get up at 7 in the summertime and spend 8 hours with a bunch of children makes me feel like I am making a difference in the world, one step at a time.”
“As someone who loves cooking, being able to see where my food comes from was really interesting. I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience this summer. We got the scientific, culinary, and agricultural view of farming, and I learned a lot.”
“I spent three summers in high school as a junior counselor at Wolfe’s Neck Farm Camp, and have spent two summers as a counselor since graduating from high school. Throughout my time as a JC, I grew as a leader and gained confidence in myself that allowed me to perform as a farm camp counselor and will continue to help me throughout my future endeavors. I had a blast, made lasting friendships, and learned so much along the way.”
