Our Work

Wolfe’s Neck Center is a farm-based education, research, and visitor center. We’re on a mission to create a world where agriculture and food systems support farmer viability, thriving ecosystems, and vibrant communities.

From farmers to consumers to businesses, a whole system approach is necessary to adequately address the complex problems we are facing. Leveraging the farm as our foundation, our programs operate at the local, regional, and national levels in four main areas:

Visitor Experience & Education

We provide experiential education for all ages, including free, public, and school programs to make connections between food, agriculture, and the environment.

Farmer Education & Market Development

We train aspiring farmers in regenerative grazing and livestock practices and coordinate regional networks that support and expand implementation.

Research & Innovation

We build and apply the science of regenerative agriculture through on-farm research, open-source tools and data-driven farmer incentives.

Casco History Lab

A place-based learning resource utilizing the rich cultural geography and built environment of our Freeport campus to connect people through history.
